Summer Camp 2024

Sessions + dates:

PLEASE NOTE: Two-week sessions require that you enroll your child in both weeks of the camp! Thank you!

OPERATION: Vacation! May 28- 31 (4-day session: prorated at $320)

During this short, “getting back into the swing of summer” week, the Quarts and Gallons will go on long, all-day field trips Tuesday through Friday (TBA, but all locations will be within an hour from Austin). In the style of Eric Carle, the Pints will spend the week transforming the lower courtyard into a beach resort, where they’ll splash, snack, relax and play. 

OPERATION: Rock-n-Roll Nation! TWO WEEKS: June 3- 7 and June 10- 14

In this popular camp session, Gallons group will form bands and work with our team of songwriters, along with our producer and good friend to spilled milk, Dave, to write and record original songs. When they’re not in the studio, we will work on making band shirts, other cool merch and more! With the Pints and Quarts, we’ll learn a bit about songwriting and how to be a rockstar (pro tip: it requires wearing more scarves than you think you need and carrying a good sharpie for non-stop autographs). Under the guidance of our music-making staff, the two younger groups will put together a musical performance featuring original and/or learned material. 

At our Listening Party on Friday, June 14th, everyone will gather together to watch the Pints and Quarts perform, along with hearing the original songs recorded by the Gallons. (Now go look up “spilled milk social club” on Spotify and listen to all the songs we’ve written and recorded through the years. You’ll thank us later.)

OPERATION: Fabrication! TWO WEEKS: June 17- 21 and June 24- 28

You know the saying: If we build it, we’ll have FUN! (<- I think that’s how the saying goes, yeah?) For the last two weeks of June, we will put our creativity and ingenuity to work as we fabricate an arcade AND a tiny marketplace! With the Gallons, we’ll bring back the ever popular “Cardboard Arcade”, along with several new and exciting tinkering projects! For the second year in a row, the Pints and Quarts will design and create a “Small Mall”, where they’ll “sell” handmade items and services that they imagine and construct themselves. This adorable session is a staff- and kid-favorite. We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with this year!

OPERATION: Salivation! July 8- 12

Nom nom nom nom nom bring forth your empty tummies! This delicious week of camp will include fun with food, hands-on experience with from-scratch recipes, AND even some goodies to take home for sharing! At the end of the week, we’ll host a SANDWICH FACTORY, where campers bring ingredients to share, and we all get to show off our “no really, THIS is the best combination of flavors” skills. Is your stomach growling yet?

OPERATION: Investigation! July 15- 19

BRAND NEW SESSION ALERT! We are bubbling with excitement at this session’s theme. Campers will work together on specially-curated scavenger hunts, dramatic “whodunit???” scenes, mysterious puzzles and MORE. Bring your best old-timey detective gear and get ready to solve every mystery under the sun! 

OPERATION: Determination! TWO WEEKS: July 22- 26 and July 29- August 2 

It’s the 11th Annual spilled milk Olympics! For these 2 weeks, the Gallons will be grouped into teams representing a country of their choosing. Each country will compete in a number of olympic events ranging from the usual (relay races, tug-o-war, etc …) to the UNusual (Fear Factor Food Challenge, Hanging Donut, and more!) 

As “hosts” of our Olympics, the Pints and Quarts will learn about their assigned countries through various crafts, stories, songs, games, etc. They’ll host a snack “cafe” with special treats from their country to share with all the Gallons teams, and they’ll also compete in some informal “mini-Olympic” competitions. Let the games begin!

OPERATION: Experimentation! August 5- 9 

Pack your lab coat and goggles and step into our laboratory! We will spend this week playing with science and having fun while learning! Campers (and staff, alike) can look forward to getting messy, having loads of fun and being a mad scientist with us!
