Guidelines for the Summer 2025 tuition assistance application and award process:
For the summer of 2025, spilled milk social club will offer tuition assistance for families who provide proof of need by completing the Tuition Assistance Application.
Who can qualify for tuition assistance?
Families who can provide proof of acceptance into the free or reduced lunch, SNAP, CHIP or Medicaid programs
Families who aren’t enrolled in the aforementioned programs but can provide a statement of financial need.
All tuition assistance awards can apply up to a maximum of four weeks of camp; any family who wishes to enroll their child for more than four weeks of camp must also fill out a regular summer camp application, starting on February 14th at 9a
Open Enrollment Period: January 10th- February 9th, 2025 at 11:59p
Families who wish to apply for Tuition Assistance must provide the following:
A completed TA application, including a list of your desired summer weeks, and a statement of what you can afford to pay for camp
Qualifying documents, if the family is able to provide them
Applications submitted during this period will be processed together as a group, and each qualifying family’s tuition assistance award amount will depend on the total number of applicants.
Determination Period: February 10th- 13th
Directors will review and process all TA applications that have been submitted as a group and not necessarily in order of submission.
As long as the number of applications we receive by February 9th won’t cause us to exceed the maximum amount of tuition assistance we are able to offer, all qualifying families will receive an offer of tuition assistance.
Tuition Assistance will be awarded as a total dollar amount, which can be applied evenly to the number of sessions that the family accepts for their child.
The amount offered for each child will depend on the following factors:
The number of qualified families who apply during the open enrollment period
Whether or not a family can provide proof of acceptance into the free or reduced lunch, SNAP, CHIP or Medicaid programs
Applicants who complete the application with proof of need will receive an email from our directors with an offer of tuition assistance by 5:00p on February 13th.
Confirmation Period: February 11th- 14th at 5p
Once the directors email the family with an offer of tuition assistance, the family must respond within 48 hours, to accept the award and confirm their child’s summer schedule
If the family fails to respond to the emailed offer within 48 hours, their assistance offer will be rescinded
If a family accepts the offer of tuition assistance by the deadline, they will also be granted early enrollment for up to four weeks of camp; *Please note that some camp sessions are two weeks long, so your early enrollment weeks might span only two sessions
Once a family is confirmed for tuition assistance and summer enrollment, they will be bound to the same cancellation policies and deadlines as all other summer camp families
Tuition Assistance is non-refundable and non-transferrable, unless in extenuating circumstances as determined by directors
